Design your own Book Plate

Youngsters all over the UK are encouraged to design their own bookplate – a highly-collectible book insert – in dual celebration of the launch of the new Wood of Words website and the ten year anniversary of My Home Library, the popular website of former children’s laureate Anne Fine.
Anne, author of Madame Doubtfire, launched My Home Library during her tenure as children’s laureate to offer free, downloadable book inserts to the world, designed by a number of fantastic illustrators.
The Independent whose work as an illustrator has earned him the Kate Greenaway medal twice.
Along with being published on the My Home Library page, the winning designer will take home a special piece of artwork created by a leading illustrator along with a family subscription to the Wood of Words website; a prize which will also be awarded to three runners-up.
The design competition runs from September 30 until December 8.Designs should be emailed to or posted to: Bookplate Competition, Digital Ink Drop CIC, T2 The Arch, 48-52 Floodgate Street, Birmingham, B5 5SL. Entries close December 8.
Throughout the competition, ten leading illustrators will be releasing their own ‘Wood of Words’ themed bookplates, which will be found on the Wood of Words Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest pages.
